Semen Profile
At least 40% of fertility issues are due to sperm issues. And, in a number of cases, both the man and woman have fertility issues.
Fertility testing for men involves a semen analysis and a blood test for routine infectious diseases.
The semen sample is analyzed to determine sperm count (how many sperm are in the semen), motility (how many are moving), and morphology (whether they have a normal shape).
The analysis may also look at DNA fragmentation or damage to the genetic material that sperm contain.

Sperm tests are covered by MSP.
Please note that the two closest Lifelabs to do this test are in Qualicum or Nanaimo and cannot be done at your local hospital.
