Dr. Chad Van Tongeren MD FRCSC

Dr. Chad Van Tongeren is the founder and director of Ocean View Fertility. He has been practicing as an Obstetrician Gynecologist in the Comox Valley since 2014, alongside his clinical instructor appointment at UBC.

He completed his training in Obstetrics and Gynecology at the University of British Columbia and was awarded the top surgeon in his graduating class of 2014. He has pursued additional training in Reproductive Endocrinology, Colposcopy, and has advanced skills in minimally invasive surgery.  He has been the OBGYN rotation lead of first year resident doctors as well as the co-lead of the More OB program, which provides teaching and education for the department of Obstetrics.

Since the start of his medical career, he has been passionate about journeying alongside his patients through difficult life challenges and circumstances. Infertility has been a special interest throughout his training and medical practice. With years of experience in the field, he has honed his skills in diagnosing and treating infertility, and he is committed to providing personalized care to every patient he serves.

He is the proud father of two beautiful children and feels privileged to share his life with his wife of over twenty years. His interests outside of medicine often have him enjoying the West Coast forests and ocean, which keep him grounded.
